URBN has FAILED to make a commitment to end Uyghur forced labour despite evidence showing it's at a high risk of being linked to forced labour.
Multiple reports have linked Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie to suppliers that have operations in the Uyghur Region. Urban is among over hundreds of international brands that may have sourced cotton from the Uyghur Region. This cotton is HIGH risk of being linked to Uyghur forced labour - AND cotton from the Uyghur Region has been banned in the U.S. since January 2021.
Urban Outfitters has NOT provided enough information on how it’s addressing the risks of forced labour across its supply chain.

Urban Outfitters scored ZERO in company traceability, wages and wellbeing, & commercial practices in Remake’s Fashion Accountability Report last year.
Urban Outfitters scored LOW in Fashion Revolution’s Transparency Index in 2022 even less than in 2021.
What is Urban Outfitters saying?
Urban Oufitters states it’s committed to responsible sourcing and has a ZERO tolerance for forced labour but has FAILED to make a real commitment to end Uyghur forced labour across its entire supply chain.
URBN claims it has stopped sourcing cotton from the Uyghur Region BUT has failed to make a real commitment to end state-imposed forced labour in the Uyghur Region. Urban Outfitters has been silent on what it is actually doing to prevent Uyghur forced labour across its entire supply chain. Urban Outfitters must come clean about WHEN it plans to fully trace its global supply chain, so we can know how it’s working to ensure ALL clothing materials are not linked to Uyghur forced labour.
Companies cannot prevent or mitigate state-imposed forced labour in the Uyghur Region. The only responsible thing companies can do is FULLY exit the Region. Urban Outfitters must immediately CUT ALL TIES with the Uyghur Region to stop being complicit in human rights abuses.
